I thought that was the whole purpose of NLB - that is if the web service
failed or was too busy then it would route traffic to the other server. I
didn't think it monitored the NIC card other than the traffic load.
I am just starting the process of NLB 2 servers, hope that I am not wasting
my time and money.

NLB will only help if the NIC or server crash on one of the two servers.
Only then will requests failover to the second ISA Server. If the ISA
service is stopped on one box, but the NIC is still running, NLB will
direct users to that server and will receive errors in the browser that
the content is unavailable. I don't know how much money you have to
spend but NetIQ's AppManager product could help you with this situation.
Unfortunately NLB is only going to help you at the Network layer, not
the application layer.

Hi All,
Does anyone know what needs to be done to link the state of the ISA
server
to the Windows network balancer.
Failover only seems to happen when the following is typed in the command
window "wlbs stop", irrelevant whether the ISA proxy service is up or
not.
Do I need to write a separate script for this?
