Something does not make sense here.

You have an Internet connection and have ISA server. Then you added a ADSL
router. Then you connected ISA to a LAN port of the Router. Does not work.
But then you connect the router to ISA and it works. 

1. Why do you need the router? That is what ISA is for.
2. What NIC of ISA did you connect to the LAN port of the Router?
3. What is the WAN port of the router connected to?

I think you need to figure out what you want to do first, then draw a map
and go from there. It kind of sounds like you are just trying different
connects to see what works.
