I made some assumptions, since you mentioned your ISP DNS. Yes, you have to use split DNS. Your ISP or whoever doing the zone with the public IP addresses and your internal DNS server with the private IP addresses. If you want to use a FQDN, you will have to have an A record created with the external IP address. They had both ISP based pop3 and my internal mail server based pop3 account. I had published my internal POP3 and SMTP server to access them from out of my network through ISA's static ip. They were able to access their internal mails easily by this setup when they are out of my network. But when they camming back into my network they cannot access my mail server due to external ip which was mentioned at the pop3 and smtp address. To solve this problem they have to chage the static ip with the internal ip address. This is a very hectic process........ Is their any DNS setup with which i can resolve the problem with one address i.e with only the static ip. I donot want to register my static ip with my ISP for internal mail server. ____________________________________________ Brajesh Ranjan Panda System Administrator Divas Offshore Software Technologies (P) Ltd.
