And your MX registry is not pointing to a public IP address?

Try alias@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and create an alias. Where your_smtp.nfti.com 
poins to the internal ip address. SMTP will try to find MX records pointing to 
this domain (that doesn't exist), BUT will try to sendo to the host name after 
the @.

Where does sit the SMTP at nfti.com?

That is just the thing. I have it setup to send NDR's to postmaster@xxxxxxxx
but instead they just pile up in the badmail directory.

I can send email to the postmaster through this SMTP server with no problem.
Just seems the SMTP server can't send on it's own.

Yes the IIS SMTP server functions normally except for the badmail folder
that fills up.
