Jim,
Don't you know that grc.com will say that he removed raw protocol
support before MS?
Shame on you.

Actually, XPSP2 removed raw protocol support.
I doubt that a reghack will bring it back...

Thanks for the heads up Tom...

Yeah, I'm up on that. I found what looks like to be a reghack for
TCP/IP settings for using RAW type connections for network scanners that
I'm going to hit up my home box with and see if it helps with that....
Looks like I'll be loading XP SP1 from a virtual machine and doing my
work from now on..... Guess I'll have to buy another computer other than
my VIA C3 to run off of, not enough go-go juice from that thing to even
come close to pushing Virtual PC 2004 or VMWare.... Bah, SP2 is such a
PITA for me, but such a good thing for normal run-of-the-mill users that
I'm more than happy to live with it.... Good reason for work to upgrade
me to a new notebook too!

Hi Troy,

No tricks. Just install and go. WARNING: do not install SP2 on XP if you
want to run Ethereal (actually, I think the problem is with WinPCAP.

On a side note to this, is there any tricks to running say something
like ethereal or netmon on an ISA box? I've never had to do it from
that end, anyone with any experience?

Use Network Monitor (or your favorite packet-capturing tool) at the
client. Start the capture before the event and stop it after the event
occurs.

Do you have a capture of this event?
It's impossible to say if it's ISA or the browser screwing that up
without one.

When I blocked a site in ISA2000, my users get this message "The page
cannot be displayedThere is a problem with" They don't get to see the
entire error page. I haven't figured out yet why this happens. So, you
might want to check with the ISA admins to see if they block sites.

Hi

I client of mine needs to connect to a government site to handle online
vehicle license renewals.

The necessary certificate was downloaded and installed ....all ok there.

When trying to connect to the HTTPS site IE just says;

"The Web Page cannot be found

The we"

I checked with the necessary department for any not standard SSL ports
and all they are using is 443.

SSL is enabled on ISA 2000 for outbound on 443 and inbound on 8443

Logged in user on client PC has an all access protocol rule and also has
firewall client enabled.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

William
