It was joined to the domain when I installed Windows 2000 Server, but it would
not work. When I got back from the holiday weekend, I changed the access and it
worked. Strange, thanks.

Hi Tom,

That's because the QS guide didn't cover user/group based access control. Once
you get past that, its not quick anymore :-)

The ISA firewall must join the domain if you are going to use domain based
users and groups.

Subject: [isalist] Domain Error After Quick Start Guide

http://www.ISAserver.org

Thanx to all that helped out - after using the Quick Start Guide step by step,
I have a fully functional ISA server running. SecureNAT clients can access the
Internet with most all programs that they need to, if they have other programs
that don't, installing the Firewall client does the trick. For example, I found
that Telnet works only if Firewall client is installed.

I only have one issue though, that the Quick Start guide did not address...When
I try to change the "All Open" Protocol rule to allow only our [Global Security
Group - INTERNET USERS] to have access, I get the error message...

"The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

When I first try to change the access, I can see my AD Domain listed and when I
choose it, I can see all my users and groups, but when I select the INTERNET
USERS group, I get the above error.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Thanx,

-Tom
