Hi David,
It is on 2003 and it happens even on Windows XP desktop machines :( I have no plug-ins or addons just a standard installation.

If its on xp or 2003 get netwatch and check where it hangs:
(made by me no drivers,simple to run and see whats up with web conenctions)
Start it open IE and check what was happening during âhangâ.
But I would say its more likely some IE addon causing that.

Hi guys,
I got a small strange problem I've never heard of. Since I
installed isa 2004, each time I open a web browser, the first page
takes ages to load (i.e. explorer is blocked on "detecting proxy
settings"). Once this phase is open, then browsing is normal.
The proxy settings are specified in internet explorer and they are not set to automatically detect.
Any idea what this could be?
