http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- Hibernate + misbehave == crappy drivers. Better that they simply turn the little buggers off (power options, close lid). -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Glenn Johnston Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2007 4:22 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] A little off topic, but possibly within scope of the hard core networkers ! Hi, A number of travelling working of one of my clients regularly use VPN connections, through an ISA server back to the office. The tend to use the hibernate function on the windows XP based notebooks, and a combination of wireless broadband cards, client networks, public wireless access points and dial up connections to be able to reacdh the office to access files / update client details in the CRM package, and access e-mail. They are regularly seeing the notebook freeze when the VPN connects or disconnects for periods of several minutes, the mouse works, but explorer seems to just go into sleep mode, only to wake up several minutes later, and then behave quite normally. Any suggestions ?
