How do you use the rotor on The Maps?
It's not the rotor one uses for changing to characters, words etcetera I'd
imagine?

see how well or badly it guides you. Try Google maps as well. I think Google is
more useful than IOS maps but that is only a personal preference.
Blindsquare costs a bit and you should be aware of what you need the guidance
for in order to decide whether you want to make the payment or not.
Moovit is useful for route directions but not step by step.
You don't need to worry about the satellites. You have no control over them!
The GPS system fixes on three or more satellites in range and if it can find
more than three it gets to be more accurate. Satellites are affected by weather
conditions and the atmosphere so you just have to use the GPS and hope for the
best.

I'm very interested in this but never have used GPS for starters so I'm a
definite rookie here I'm afraid.
I have IOS Maps on my phone and want to get the best out of that if
that's firstly the thing to do.
I'd like to know the steps to using GPS and should I install Blind
Square, Moovit or what and how do I sync either with the necessary
satellites?

In that case, Try using Moovit and see if you can get it to guide you

I have Blind Square on my phone but have never found out how to mark
any location on it; well, no, that's not true, I have marked a
location but am not sure how I can make Blind Square walk me back to
it. So, for example, I marked my house some day, and whenever I am
close to it, it tells me with a ping that I am near, but I don't know
how I would say to it "Bring me to my address". I will have a loo into the
other aps you mentioned as well.

well known and also Ariadne GPS. Each of these allow you to markr a
favourite place and will bring you back to it within a few meters if

I have been a member here for quite some time now but have never
introduced myself. Anyway, some of you probably know me already from
the Ireland Vibnews list. My name is Melanie Leamy, I am a
complementary therapist, originally German but have been living in
Ireland for nine years (so feel more Irish than German at this point).
I live in Bray and work in Dun Laoghaire.
My question tonight is this: My mum is coming over for a visit in July.
And, after I told her so much about the wonderful trips to County
Clare that my husband and I undertook when he was still well enough
to do so between
2009 and 2016, she told me that she would love us to go on a similar
trip this year, in memory of my husband. I am really excited about
this. I know it will be sad in a way to visit all the beautiful
places and it will bring up a lot of memories, but I love Clare and
the Aran Islands and know that it will be good for me to go back.
Anyway, this time we will have to use public transport, whereas my
husband and I used to drive everywhere. I have a good idea of Doolin
and surroundings and particularly Inismor and the whole situation
with the fairy and that. But the B&B I booked for us for one night
in Doolin I have never been to before. And so I was wondering: Is
there a way - or maybe even an iPhone ap - so that I can mark our
location once we leave the B&b and have a walk around so that, when
we want to return to the B&B, I can simply select the highlighted
location and the ap will bring us back to it? I know that somebody
told me something about this before, but I am not sure what exactly
the person was saying. I know I can mark a location in Google Maps,
but that's not exactly what I want. I basically want something that
tells me: In order to reach your
turn left..." etc.
Is there such an ap?
