Subject: [invitrom] Information from the INVITROM Board: INVITROM AGA and
INVITROM name change

Dear colleagues,

During the successful INVITROM-Beltox meeting on “Reproductive Toxicology: from
In Vitro to Man” in Edegem on the 3rd of December, 2012, we held our Annual
General Assembly.

Attached to this mail you will find the minutes of the AGA. Since our
treasurer, Sjeng Horbach, was not able to participate, he will soon send you
information on the INVITROM 2013 budget, for your consultation and approval.
The 2012 balance sheet and 2013 budget are available on the Members Only
section of the INVITROM website (www.invitrom.org).

The AGA marked also the end of term of our president, Bas Blaauboer. Bas did a
remarkable job since we started INVITROM in 2006. The other board members who
were at the end of their term remained on the board for another term.
Some of the responsibilities within the board have therefor changed: Caroline
Vanparys – secretary; Hilda Witters – meeting organizer and members; Jan van
der Valk – president.

Since INVITROM also attracts many members from outside the Dutch-Belgian
region, the Board discussed changing the name of INVITROM, to reflect the
international audience. The board proposes to change the name from the
Dutch-Belgian Society of In Vitro Methods into the International Society of In
Vitro Methods. The acronym, INVITROM, will remain the same.
As we would like your approval, you have 2 weeks from now to approve the new
name of the society, or to raise your concerns.
When no insurmountable concerns are raised within this period we will change
the name of our Society into the International Society of In Vitro Methods.

With best regards,

 dr. Jan van der Valk
