[Ilugc] successfully setup samba share

2. the /etc/hosts was earlier changed to a different name server. I
changed it to correct one.
err, name servers are in /etc/resolv.conf and not /etc/hosts. This
could have an effect if you have DNS for your internal hosts; pointing
it to the correct name server is very important.
Yes.. it was resolv.conf .
But after i
restarted the server the share access was very fast comparatively to
other windows share.
Does this not restore your faith in open source solutions? :)
I never lost my faith in open source :) .. btw, this was a good experienec,
as i configured samba for first time..
The reason why i went for this solution is to setup web dev folder for my
team.. each of my team member was configured a web folder in server apache,
and the folder was shared to them..
I created share level security and assigned the samba user to their folder..
This enables us to deploy this share as network folder and work directly on
it using eclipse running in our local desktop.. this avoids setting up
local wamp server for each of them..
