Use a live CD, such as Knoppix or Mepis, and boot into that
system. Mount your Linux filesystem to some directory. Then, chroot to
that directory using chroot /mnt/hda5 (or wherever you have mounted
you Linux drive). Then, issue grub-install /dev/hda. That might work.
