[Ilugc] qparted - partition resizing

i defragmented the entire c: drive and then
As some gentleman suggested on this list, i booted from a live knoppix
cd and used qparted.
what happens is once i start resizing, so that i get 18GB free space. It
says a error that resizing failed due to wrong shutdown of windows
machine etc.
using parted on an NTFS partition might not be such a good idea
use partition magic (evaluation version if you'd like from
http://fosi.da.ru/) and then retry
Partition magic would be ideal for NTFS paritions
otherwise if your laptop is a thinkpad then use the IBM tools itself
