I have a compaq notebook, which comes with 40GB hardisk loaded with win XP home
( it's a single partition c: drive )
Now i want to resize the partion and install other OS.
i defragmented the entire c: drive and then
As some gentleman suggested on this list, i booted from a live knoppix cd and
what happens is once i start resizing, so that i get 18GB free space.
It says a error that resizing failed due to wrong shutdown of windows machine
I have retried it many times after again defragmenting, sghutting down windows
properly again etc in vain.
Could somebody point me the mistake or suggest alternate soln ?
