It is not a breach of copyright to
quote extracts of a creative work for the purpose of review or citation,
but it is certainly a breach to publish the whole of it or substantial
portions of it. This has been settled law for probably over a 100 years.


True. But that depends on whether news is considered creative work by the
law!
