my suggestion is that we should not make chennailug.org as job site
where luggers keep their biodata. instead, we have job postings so
that luggers will be benefited.
Hello bala,
Yeah i partially agree with you, but can you express your point of
opinion
why should this feature not be there in cheenilug.org. Can we have
solution
provider index, such as "A institute" "B company" gives floss based
training/solution ?. Can some one elightened me on this.
i am not here to decided what should be there and what should not. i
just throwed my thoughts. can u tell me why do we need to have
solution provider index?
instead can we have some thing like this below
1. events conducted by chennai luggers
2. LDD info
3. Open source participations list
and much more of community oriented ...
again i have told my thoughts...:)
My ideas, we can have something like this..
* Past events by ilugc - under the categories of LDDs, GLVs, Intro talks
and topic specific seminars. GLV list might be linked to appropriate
additional resources if possible the slides and materials used by the
speaker for the same
* Forthcoming events - events which have been fixed and going to take
place in the near future.
* Proposed events which are under planning and discussion.
* Speakers Info, who can talk on what ?
* Physical Volunteers list, a list of luggies who are/will be able to
volunteer physically for ilugc events ;)
And also, a special this weekend banner or a sticky somewhere will help
to find out whats happening the coming weekend, either LDD, GLV or some
other meets.
Instead of using the chennailug.org for posting resumes, it would be a
better idea to open up a google-group and use it for the purpose. The
link for the same can be given in our chennailug.org site instead of
using our site for such purposes. If you start putting resumes on our
site, hundreds of resumes will come and we will rather become an
employment portal than a LUG :D
Note: The above statement is my humble opinion, there is every
possibility that this might lead to arguments, counter-arguments and
flames... am a bit afraid of fire! ;)
