Really? You mean to say that the whole of Web 2.0 is based on something
that's not even a standard?!
Really. But hey am not responsible for this soa ;-)
In fact XMLHttpRequest was introduced by IE (circa 1999) and other browsers
followed suit. Even though most browsers support it now its still not a
standard.
Most (including yours truly) never knew it existed till GMal appeared and
showed what is possible in a web application.
