Wubi is not the right way. Your Ubuntu sits inside Windows partition and
if fragmented it will slow your Ubuntu. If Windows is curruot you wont
be able to access Ubuntu. The best solution is go for fresh install and
install in on separate partition. Then only you will reap benefits of
GNU/Linux. Is LinuxMint an independent install?
