[Ilugc] Ubuntu Hangs

I have ubuntu 10.04 in my machine.Installed it via wubi.My system hangs
while working.Same thing happened when installing it.Sometimes it hangs
even
when no operation is performed.Tried Linux Mint 10,it too hangs while
installing.No idea of whats going wrong:-(.Any more information needed to
find the cause of the problem?
Try this:
I also had the same problem I solved it. Right click on your desktop and
click Change Desktop Background -> Visual Effects (4th Tab). Set it for
"None".
