Ok, this is also seen in Gnome menus. I can live with
it.
2. How can I generate HTML files with tamil input
Bluefish works like a charm!
* With UTF-8, Abiword can export .abw to .pdfs. Looks
good.
* To use TeX, download wntamil.zip created by the
Humanities and Arts Computing Center, University of
Washington, Seattle, Washington:
http://www.tug.org/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/wntamil.html
The list of files are:
ftp://cam.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/tamil/wntamil/
If you have Tetex package installed, you can use the
above:
1. First run metafont on the wntml10.mf:
mf wntml10.mf
This will create the wntml10.2602gf file.
2. Compile tamilize.c:
gcc tamilize.c -o tamilize
3. To run the given example:
./tamilize readme.doc readme.tex
4. Run tex on readme.tex:
tex readme.tex
This will create the readme.dvi file
5. To create .ps and .pdf files:
dvips readme.dvi -o readme.ps
ps2pdf readme.pdf
You can use evince or xpdf to view the .pdf file.
If you are interested in fonts and TeX, the following
is a fantastic metafont tutorial:

Ubuntu rockz!
