I got the footpedal working with serial to USB converter reliably on Windoze.
As someone said you only need to write the right udev rule.
Yes, unfortunately future PCs won't have serial ports. In fact I think
even PCI will get outdated.
Just like DDR2 getting outdated now. ;)
It is a bad trend.
