i guess the present settings is far good enough.

my suggestion is the user should never be restricted. its user wish
whether he wants to send the reply to list back or to the individual.
either u can use reply | reply to all option in most of the mail
clients (both desktop and web based).



If the user has subscribed to a public mailing list, then why not let the
responses be posted to the list? If you click reply all, then you are
sending the OP two emails. And i've seen many people using a signature:
``Dont send me a cc. I read the list''
