From my experience I have seen that any trading website which claim

requires Microsoft VM and IE
Such incompatibility issues have been raised time and again. It not
just trading sites but newspapers (asian age), e-Governance sites that
require IE because the server sends VBscript to the browser!
It boils down to following of standards. But then many believe that IE
is the defacto standard and not W3C. Most of the sites are developed
on a tender basis where the client (here the trading company) probably
does not specify compatability with W3C, so the contracting company
takes the easy way out (or perhaps the team only knows IIS and IE
platform). Suggest you write directly to the head honcho of the
company with a couple of screen shots of the site and see if you can
elicit any response. If not, you may have to keep looking.
Unfortunately, many such companies truly believe that IE is the only
browser out there. Sigh :(
