One of my friends was asking me to suggest a good Asset management tool. His
requirement is
1. Maintenance of asset details (configurations, locations, numbers to call
for service, escalation matrix etc.)
2. Service History (parts replaced, defects rectified etc.)
3. Status (Working; Not working - service call booked, escalated, service
visit completed but problem not rectified, awaiting replacement of failed
parts etc.) Online ping is not very important as most machines would not be
constantly connected.
4. Must be web-enabled
The challenge is that he has deployed systems, printers and other
peripherals at 186 locations and these are not interconnected. There will be
some people who will be updating the records.
Apart from this, he has got lot of machines under Annual Maintenance
Contract. So, he needs to know about these machines and also he wants to
integrate it to Trouble Ticketing ( Great - if you people suggest Ticketing
system also which has integrated Asset Management tool also)
