I face a problem of installing Linux on SATA
My Disk Details :
Manufacturer : Seagate
Size : 160 GB
The bios Config shows My SATA as Third IDE
I have tried Ubuntu , Fedora Core 5 , and Suse 10.0 .. Nothing installed
.
.It says no device found
CAn I install Linux ? Any way out
Motherboard and chipset, please?
Ubuntu 5.04, most Gentoo livecds, and perhaps others detect the SATA on my
NForce 4 board, as well as the Intel 915 board quite well. The only REAL
problem I faced was that I didn't compile in support for the chipset in the
kernel and as a result, all DMA shut down in protest. That was easily fixed
by adding the option in the kernel...

"Begin at the beginning,", the King said, very gravely,
"and go on till you come to the end: then stop."
