Dear friends:
The LUG at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) was started during
the visit of RMS -- I think couple of years back. It has been
sporadically active and the current members are keen to be
continuously active. They are well supported by Prof Ganesan who has
also set up a Linux lab in the computer department. They are also
having Linux in B.E., and FOSS subjects in masters programmes.
While the plan is to have FOSS workshops, LDDs, projects, etc. they
have informed me that

the L.U.G at VIT has decided to spread awareness on free software
through a meeting on the 16th inst. We have also seriously taken up
the work of determining areas of interest to pursue projects.
Furthermore we will be glad to establish contact with any member of
the L.U.G Chennai and seek his assistance.

They are keen to have a presence of at least one member from ILUG-C on
16th -- the function can be in the morning for an hour or two.
