I have registered long back (i.e. re-registered after the site was
revamped) and have a username/password - logged in !
once logged, on the right side, you can list of options like create
content. by clicking on that, u can see the event creation option.
using this, u can create a event. also i added a event that is going
to happen related to "writing efficient javascript"
Create Content:
* Event
* Poll
* Story
Ok, I tried to add a new event - workshop in a college which Me and
Raman had this month beginning.
Here is the link:

i explained above. there are event types. if u go to college, select
the college type.if u go to school, select the school type. if u r
giving in monthly ilugc meeting, select that. if u need some more
type(which are frequently used), let me know
once u added the events, it will show up in the calender
(http://chennailug.org/event)
Can the event type be as follows ?
* College Workshops and Seminars
* School Workshops and talks
* Linux Demo Day
* Special Workshop/Seminars - talks in a specific topic like Python, Perl..
* LUG Monthly Meet
* Local LUG Meets
* Other FOSS Events - Events from non-ilugc like foss.in, Linux Asia..
Can you create events like this ?
i guess u can do. you could give a try. let me know if u face any
difficulty.
Thanks. What we all needed was such a good explanation of doing it, as
you gave above ;)
Now, at least the active LUGies, will add the events they participate or
come to know into the calendar :)
