cpio -i < cpiofile
or
cpio -i --file=cpiofile
if you want to interactively rename files
cpio -ir <cpiofile
Specific files
cpio -i filename <cpiofile
use ' ' for substitutions like * , ? around filename
To just list contents
cpio -t <cpiofile
