[Ilugc] Fedora Core 1.0 - how to test scientifically ?

I had the same symptoms and trouble with the previous distros and when
installation is done on the text mode, installation breaks after
sometime with this:

Bank 1: b6000000000181 at 000084314bc0
Kernel Panic : CPU Context Corrupt
I was thinking if the kernel is ok and if it is possible to compile the
kernel everything else should work fine.
