Hi,
We have 2 Dell Vostro 1510 (bought a few weeks back) running Ubuntu.
Everything works out of the box except wifi for which I was too lazy to
configure ndiswrapper.
I have configured wifi with ndiswrapper in quite a few machines and it
works perfectly.
Wanted to update that the problem was solved...
The noapm noacpi stuff was not required.
But I had to add i8042.nomux=1 to the kernel parameters.
Now every thing is working fine.
The broadcom bcm43xx module does not work. I had to use ndiswrapper with XP
drivers.
Regarding shifting to Ubuntu, not possible for me - I use a propriotory
software (LabVIEW) and is supported only on OpenSUSE and a few commercially
supported linux versions.
With regards,
Arun Venkataswamy
