The summary of our "off the list" discussion is as follows. There are
some open questions... which I leave to the community to kindly
complete :-)
1. First attatch the new hard disk to your new server.
1a. How to verify the hdd is detected? -- Please complete
2. Use any partition/hard disk manager (partd/fdisk/gpartd ... any
other -- please fill) to format the hard disk and mount the same onto
some location
3. put your new files on this new folder.
4. if you want to move existing directories to the new hard disk, move
them using "mv" and put a symbolic link to the old location.
Hint: moving the /var folder to the new hdd would give a lot of space
:-) if you are using the server for huge compilations.
