Mike:

The RATA program Mike F. is talking about will convert a .bmp to a .plt file, 
but the results can be...    disappointing.  Be prepared to do a bit of work 
once you have it imported.

Here is an example of such an import after massaging it:



All the lines tend to blend together during the etch process, but it looks a 
bit ugly when looking at it on the screen :)

I seem to remember that somewhere there was a way to convert a bmp file into 
something that Allegro could read in, and use on a board. Does anyone have an 
idea how this is accomplished?
