Hello all,
Almost got it working!
I can not get "alt sym" selection for RMB for more than one part at a time.
BUT...I found that I can move temp group of parts, select an origin point, then type "pop alt symbol" in Allegro command line.

PROBLEM!!!
This does NOT work if I have some parts on top and some on the bottom.
I tried Move Symbol by symtype, select origin point, type pop alt symbol....but nothing happens!

This would be a great fix.

Question 1: Can any of you access RMB "alt sym" while moving a group of symbols or all by symtype?
If so, what version?

Question 2: Can anyone think of anything I can do to get this to work with parts on the top and bottom. Then I could select by symtype to do all of one type in a design.

If not, my only options are:
1. Export placement file, manipulate components and symtype, delete all components to be replaced by alt sym, then import placement file.
OR
2. Move temp group (select all of this symtype on top side), select origin point, type pop alt symbol, then place at same origin point.
Then repeat for bottom side.

Thanks again for all of your replies!
Mark

Hi,

I have 15.1 and it works fine.
Instead of vector in printer setup just select native and it works.

Hi Gary,
We found it does not work in v15.1, but does in v.15.7.

Thanks for your reply.

Hey Mark,

I'm not sure what you are asking, is it about forum posting?
I post to "icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" and it works fine.

Then, you are having trouble creating a searchable PDF in 15.1?
I am on 15.5.1 now, but there was no change from 15.1 as far as I
remember.
We are also now using Acrobat 7.0 Standard.

In Plot Setup, Windows tab, put a check mark next to "Non-vectorized
text".
Also set the font to Courier. If you want to see the bottom assemblies
as non mirrored, in Plot Setup, General tab, put a check mark next to
"Mirror".
Then in the Print Setup window, I choose Adobe PDF as the printer name
and Paper Size and Orientation as necessary.

That's all it should take. I'm using an Expert license, and I'm not
sure if it works or not with a Studio or Studio Performance license.

Good luck!

Hi all,
I this address still used or just the "moderator@xxxxxxxxxxxx??

We are using Allegro v15.1 trying to plot pdf with searchable text in Adobe Acrobat standard 6.0?.
Can anyone help?
I saw the posting regarding mirrored text, but in v15.1, there is no "unvectorized selection" in plot set-up.
Only Vectorized, but is not searchable no matter if selected or not.
(see attached)

Thanks,
Mark
