The comment about only importing gerbers that were generated from Allegro applies only to RS274X format. You MAY be able to import form external sources, but the codes in RS274X have the ability to get pretty complicated in nested loops etc. that Allegro will not guarantee that its software will successfully import whatever was generated elsewhere. -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kevin McCowan Sent: Monday, August 08, 2005 1:30 PM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF That makes no sense. Gerber files are not anyone specific. They are gerber files. A completely different animal than cadence or any other vendor. What I would do is try to rename the gerber with a .art extension and see if it loads in then. I have never had any problem loading any gerber into allegro. Unless, of course, it was broken. I have done this before and it works fine. If you don't have a gerber to dxf converter send me the gerber files and I'll make the DXF files for you. > > Best regards, > > Tom Woznicki > Flex Circuit Design Company > www.flexdude.com > 408-629-8343 > > At 10:14 AM 8/8/2005, Kumaran wrote: > Mike, > > This is working fine for .art output. am not able to import the Pads Gerber Output (.pho). > > Regards > Kumaran M > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Mike Finczak > To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Monday, August 08, 2005 6:56 PM > Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF > > Kumaran, > From the Allegro menu, try : > > ---->File > ----> Import > ----> Artwork > > See the attached screenshot. > > Regards, > Mike Finczak > CopperCAD Design > www.CopperCAD.com > 905-488-8958 > > > -----Original Message----- > From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kumaran > Sent: August 8, 2005 7:44 AM > To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF > > Can you explanin me the ways to implement that? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: prathibha > To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Saturday, August 06, 2005 7:27 PM > Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF > > Yes, it can be imported > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Kumaran > To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Saturday, August 06, 2005 6:46 PM > Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF > > Hi Mike, > > Can the gerber output file (.pho) from pads be imported in Allegro? > > Regards > Kumaran > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Mike Finczak" <mike@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Saturday, August 06, 2005 5:54 PM > Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: BMP2DXF > > > >>Kumaran, >> You can create gerber file of the logo in PADS, then import >> the gerber file into Allegro onto the desired layer. >> >> In Allegro, I have also used this method to re-size logos >> by creating a gerber file, with a sale factor, then imorted >> the re-sized gerber file back in on the same layer. >> >> >>Regards, >> Mike Finczak >> CopperCAD Design >> www.CopperCAD.com >> 905-488-8958 >> >> >> >> >>>MessageHi All, >>> >>>I have a logo created in Pads as Solid Copper.
