In most cases it merely means that some of the document's internal status information is inconsistent, which is completely harmless. The only time when this warning is substantial is if you had a crash or some sort of serious error while editing it because then the unexpected status information indicates that the app has not got round to completely updating or formatting the docment. In all other cases it just points to sloppy code somewhere. The * typically appears when the document is updated after being loaded, e.g., if you have a date field in it. >> Any ideas anyone as to why this is happening? > [...] it sounds like an auto-saved file that was > produced as a backup is being automatically reloaded. I am not aware of EasiWriter automatically loading backup files. As far as I know when you load a file then exactly that file is loaded and nothing else.
