The annoying part about NLS right now is that while they do have a great number of books for download, certain authors that have written a series of books may have part of the series available for download, but not the whole thing. Right now, for instance, J. R. R. Tolkien has the Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring available for download; whereas the last two volumes, the Two Towers and Return of the King, are not yet available. Keep that in mind if you are new to NLS and are expecting their complete library to be available for download already.

The only daisy player you need is your PDA, either the braille plus or icon.
So
basically, you need:

-- A NLS membership. That is, you're already receiving tapes, or braille
books or
magazines from NLS.

-- You also need a daisy player that supports NLS, not all of them do. Your
braille plus
or icon can do this. The vr stream can too, and so can a player that they
lend, but that's just not worth
it if you only have a braille plus or icon.

That's all you need.

Hi.

No, you don't, because the icon and braille plus are devices on which
the
books can be played.
I got my password reset a few days ago. It's amazing stuff.

All you need is a membership with NLS. You don't even need a tape
player, if
you're receiving the books in braille, I think they count it as being a
member. The reason they ask
for the address and phone number is because they need to compare it to
the
ones in their database, to make
sure you are a member and not just faking it.

So if you have a braille plus, APH. Or an icon, Level Star. You're good
to
go, and
it's free.

purchase a player you do have to play the books on one of the devices.

You don't have to have a Dasy Reader, such as the Victor Reader Stream.
You
have to have a tape machine,
to show that you are a member.
