Actually the update will be somewhat major, but it will work just like any other update. The only difference may be some additional registration steps to accomodate the NLS DRM scheme. Keith >>> ring2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx 10/22/07 09:42AM >>> I think this will require a major update. Currently, the Icon and/or the Braille Plus cannot remember your position in an audio file if you close it out, and there is currently no support for the Daisy format currently being used by NLS. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of PAMELA RADER Sent: Monday, October 22, 2007 7:53 AM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: NLS talking books They'll make an announcement on this list. Plus, it will require an update option, of which you would be notified when you utalize the "Check For Updates" option. Incidentally, anytime you are notified of an update, there are 3 options: 1. Download and install; 2. Details, which tells you what's included in the update; and 3. "No." So, needless to say, when NLS support is ready, you won't miss it! I believe the humanware Victor Reader stream has to have this. I just looked at the site where the pilate program is located, and right now the only player that seems to be supported is the Victor reader stream. How will we know when the icon and Braille plus are supported? I can't wait for NLS support. Stacey and GEB dog Chesley staceyr75@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
