Your idea may have an additional merit.  Frequently, when reading an
article, you are referred to other sites that contain additional information
that would be nice to peruse.  I'd like to see the ability to mark URL's
that could then be downloaded during a subsequent log-in.

I think it would be nice if HTML content from e-mail and fetched rss feed
articles were 
rendered as if it had been retrieved in the browser.  That way, we'd be able
to navigate it more 
easily.  For instance, skipping blocks of repeated header text on CNN
stories while 
reading.  What do you think?
