It is indeed a hardware problem. Jenny----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Ehrler" <REhrler-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hey John,Did LevelStar actually confirm a hardware problem with the mini SDHC cards? The reason I ask is because when I first purchased a regular 4 GB SDHC card for use on several devices I own, I discovered it didn't work at all on my MileStone recorder. A friend told me they had a firmware update available to fix the problem. I got and installed that update and now my MileStone can use those SDHC cards with no problem. I believe the MileStone came out around the same time as the Icon or maybe a little before the Icon so wonder if the problem can be fixed by updating the driver for that slot.Richard Ehrler----- Original Message ----- From: "John Esak" <john@xxxxxxxxx To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date sent: Mon, 25 Feb 2008 09:32:58 -0500 Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Feature Request: Part IIJohn,Unfortunately, the HD min-SD cards require a change in thehardware. Ibelieve the socket arrangement or something physically differentpreventsthe current Icon or BP+ from using the HD versions. I only knowthisbecause I bought one by mistake. After not being able to get itto work, Isent one along to Levelstar so they could determine the problem.Thehardware thing turned out to be the problem. It would be nice onfutureupgrades to be able to refit these units, although I'm kind ofdoubting ifthat is even possible.Takec care,John Esak-----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of JohnMcCannSent: Sunday, February 24, 2008 10:29 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Feature Request: Part IIHello Fellow Listers:While we're talking about new features we'd like to see, doesanybody hereknow whether the mini SD card universe has paralleled thestandard SD carduniverse in high capacity or "HC" versions in the 4, 8 and 16GBranges? Ifso, I would hope that ability to read and write to such cardswould beincorporated into future software releases for the icon andbraille plus.John-- No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.
