I am sorry, I was in a hurry with my previous email on this topic and wasn't quite clear on the vote options. #1) Do we need to support back-channel modeling in IBIS-AMI for the statistical flow (or is supporting it in the time-domain flow sufficient)? - yes/no #2) If the answer to the question above is yes, should we modify BIRD 147, or start a new BIRD? - modify/new #3) If the answer to the previous question is "new BIRD", should it be worked on now, together with BIRD 147, or at a later time? - now/later I believe these were the questions we wanted answer with the vote. It sounds like there are 3 options for this "vote": 1. Don't ever attempt to do back-channel modeling statistically. 2. Attempt to do back-channel modeling statistically, but not now. 3. Demand that we move statistical and time-domain back-channel modeling forward, together. Do I have it correct? Thanks, -db From: ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> [mailto:ibis-macro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Muranyi, Arpad Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2014 4:22 PM To: IBIS-ATM Subject: [ibis-macro] Vote in the next ATM meeting Hello everyone, We had a discussion on BIRD 147 (Backchannel) in the last ATM teleconference. Several concerns were raised about the BIRD, but the biggest issue seemed to be that the BIRD does not include the statistical flow, only the time domain flow. Since we weren't able to make a decision whether the statistical flow should be supported, a suggestion was made to take a vote on this question. Since we were running short on time, we decided to conduct the vote in the upcoming ATM teleconference (April 1st) to decide whether the BIRD should include the statistical flow or not. Another option is to start a new BIRD for the backchannel features in the statistical flow, but the consensus seemed to be that if we include the statistical flow, it should be done now together with BIRD 147 so that we would not get into conflicts between the two flows. I am sending this email to this email reflector to notify everyone about this informal vote. Please spend a little time to think about the question and come to the meeting ready with your choice. If you can't make it to the meeting, you may submit your vote to me in email either as a reply to this message, or privately if you want to remain anonymous. Thank you all for your support.
