Agenda
======

A) Opens
B) Call for any related patent disclosures
C) Review of ARs:

- Michael M.: Summarize options/directions in a couple of for our
  differential feature enhancements

Old ARs:

- AMI BIRD authors meet to prove AMI BIRD can handle Mellitz cases
- Mike S send non-proprietary information on studies he performed
  - done

- EDA vendors: Please check internally about the preference of your
company regarding how we should proceed with the features proposed
for differential models. Should we handle this in a quick and easy
way or a cleaner but somewhat more involved way?
  - done

- Michael M.: Sketch new IBIS interconnect plan
  - in progress

- Walter: Coordinate completion of true diff BIRD draft
          - in progress
- Michael M.: Draft Eye keywords for true diff BIRD
          - in progress
- Randy: Draft derating keywords for true diff BIRD
          - in progress
- Arpad: Write parameter passing syntax proposal (BIRD draft)
for *-AMS models in IBIS that is consistent with the
parameter passing syntax of the AMI models
          - not done

- TBD: Propose a parameter passing syntax for the SPICE
          [External ...] also?

- Arpad: Review the documentation (annotation) in the macro libraries.
          - deferred until a demand arises or we have nothing else to do

D) Report by the Receiver Measurements Subcommittee

1) Walter will review three phases (BIRDS) of "Receiver Measurements".

1a) We will focus on the first phase; defining new IBIS "Receiver
Measurements" parameters required to satisfy current and future
industry needs. Later phases will address the need to formalize
and name "Standards", and using hierarchical rules with the use of
Include files or other mechanisms to be looked at that time.
1b) Phases (BIRDS)

     i. Identifying Industry Standard "Receiver Measurements"

         1. Conflict between how this particular [Model] works vs.
industry compliant standards that [Model] must satisfy.
             a. When analyzing a DDR2 interface does the user want to
                 determine
                 1. Will this work with any Vendors dimm
                 2. Will this work with a specific Vendors dimm
             b. Will the dimm vendor supply IBIS files that
                 1. Satisfy the Jedec "Receiver Measurements" standard
                 2. Reflect the actual performance of the [Model]
         2. Buses
             a. DDR2
             b. DDR3
             c. USB-2
             d. SATA
             e. XAUI
             f. PCI Express
             g. PCI Express Gen. 3
             h. ...
         3. General approach is to not invent new methods of analyzing
receiver waveforms, but to add new IBIS parameters to
satisfy existing, documented accepted industry standard
             "Receiver Measurements" (e.g. JEDEC)
         4. New measurements
             a. tVAC
             b. Derating
             c. VCM_overshoot_low and VCM_overshoot_high (in addition
                 to Vcross_low and Vcross_high)
             d. Eye Template
             e. ...
         5. New ways of describing existing measurement rules
             a. Vinh_ac, Vinh_dc, Vinl_ac, Vinl_dc
                 1. Currently one value adjusted by Vth,
                     Threshold_sensitivity, Reference_Supply
                 2. JEDEC DDR2 and DDR3 require that typ, min and max
                     values be specified
             b. Vdiff_ac, Vdiff_dc
                 1. Same problem as Vinh_ac
         6. Add Vdiff to [Model]
         7. Cleanup Tslew_ac, Tdiffslew_ac
             a. Existing rule is between ac and ac, which makes no
sense
             b. Define min and max slew times between
                 1. dc_vref
                 2. dc_dc
                 3. dc_ac
                 4. vref_dc
                 5. vref_ac
         8. Will not address [Diff Pin] tdelay_typ, tdelay_min,
tdelay_max since these are not "Receiver Measurements"
         9. Grouping existing and new measurement rules into named
             industry "Standards"

ii. Supporting named "Standards" in IBIS files
iii. Supporting includes or other hierarchical data in IBIS files

2) Randy will present work on tVAC.
3) MM will present any new work on Eye Template.

Thanks,

Arpad
