Hi Greg,

The "application scenario" describes the program flow, while the "reference
flow" describes the math of the exact algorithm, which is not provided in the
program flow description.

My presentations at Quality work group meetings (17-AUG-2011, 06-SEP-2011)
contain algorithmic details of the "reference flow".

Scenario to me means possible situations,
Reference flow to me means "thou shall do
this and that".

Arpad,

I'm not clear yet. Both sections seem to be describing what's going on inside
of the simulator. Is there some subtle difference between an "application
scenario" and a "reference flow" that I'm not picking up on?

Greg,

Section 2 is called APPLICATION SCENARIOS and section 3
is called Reference Flows. The first sentence in
section 2 says:

| The next two sections provide an overview of the two simulation types
| supported by the IBIS-AMI specification.

and the first sentence in section 3 says:

| The next two sections define a reference simulation flow for statistical
| and time domain system analysis simulations.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks,

Arpad

Can anybody explain the difference between section 2.2 and 3.2 of BIRD 120.1?
Both seem to be describing the high-level process for calculating a
voltage-time waveform from AMI models, a channel, and a bit stream.

Thanks.
