Michael,
Sorry for a last minute comment, but doing a final review I think we have
another editorial issue (not just one but all similar).
They are all related to some statements referring to "Touchstone". For example,
statements like "connections to IBIS-ISS subcircuits or Touchstone files" are
not up to the high professional standard of the IBIS specification language.
Touchstone files are not electrical components and the connections are made to
the n-port components for which data is provided in Touchstone files.
I am sending this to the Interconnect list instead of ibis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx to
avoid the last minute controversy. Yet, we need to mention that some cleanup,
including improving consistency should be done by the editorial task group.
Radek

Thanks for all the feedback provided, both via the reflector and separately.
Thanks also to Arpad for his sharp eyes! We have unanimity among the attendees
in this week's Interconnect Task Group meeting in support of Arpad's new
language, so I have updated the document and enclosed it here. A minor change
was made to the introductory sentences as well. I will be sending this to the
IBIS reflector later today.

Mike,
This is good in general, but if we wanted to be nitpicky, we may want to change
the
last sentence in your 1-pg document:
"A Buffer_Rail may be identified by a signal_name or bus_label entry."
The reason is because the previous sentence starts out with:
"At the buffer interface, a terminal whose Terminal_type is", so when we
are talking about "Buffer_Rail" in the last sentence, we are talking about
another
Terminal_type and not a "rail". So the proper way of saying this last sentence
may
be something along the lines of:
"Terminals of Terminal_type Buffer_Rail may be identified by a signal_name or
bus_label entry."
I realize that this is getting nitpicky, and I don't want to cause any delays,
but my
"German precision" is sticking its ugly horn out... :)
Thanks,
Arpad

Subject: [ibis-interconn] BIRD189.6 proposed change one-page document
Importance: High
As discussed in today's Interconnect Task Group meeting, enclosed please find a
one-page list of editorial changes proposed for BIRD189.6. This document is
intended for sharing at the Friday Open Forum (and preferably on the IBIS
reflector beforehand) as an amendment to the BIRD approval motion, to allow
BIRD189.6 to be approved as 189.7 without delaying the vote to the July Open
Forum meeting.
Please provide any feedback as soon as possible. Thank you!
