hey guys, wanted to post my space fleet stuff as it is now to see if
anyone has anything to suggest or comment.
because the ai isn't updated for this type of combat, it is mainly
jumping around and attacking the enemy then sometimes getting attacked
back lol, i realy think its odd.
but other than the ai, this series has a lot of interesting parts to
it, and the point system is verry nice.
the first map, episode 1 is a large map to show what i eventualy want
to head towards, where you travel through galaxies to get to your
target, and using the command carrier to refuel fuel to convert to
power and to use to jump.
you also in order to fire weapons have to convert some of your ships
power to weapons power, wich limits how much can be fired in one turn.
then, there are shields that you can put up, each ship having
different class shields, and they use shield power to maintain.
if you get hit enough, your shield power will go down, and if when
shields need to go up again and you don't have the power, you'll be
vulnerable to attacks.
shields should go up every 2 turns.
for weaponry,
s fires a storm torpedo, he most damaging that does physical damage.
p fires a photon torpedo that is less damaging but can be fired more,
and are good for breaking down shields and do energy damage.
h fires hulk torpedo, the heavy asalt torpedos used for close range
fighting and do the most damage to shields. the range on these is the
shortest so you'll have to get pretty close to fire them.
a fires phasers wich are weak but good for finishing off damaged crafts.
b fires the hcml beam, or high concentrated melecular laser beam wich
does considerable damage at long range, but can only be fired once due
to the power needed. it does plasma damage like all laser weapons.
l fires the laser cannon wich are shorter range and repeat hitters.
d deploys a mine wich can be moved 3 squares before needing to wait or
detinate, detinate can be targeted 2 squares away good for finishing
off crafts or starting damage, or even guarding special crafts or
planets.
you'll have to play around with it some, as you need power to move,
fuel and power to jump, weapon power for weapons, shield power for
shields, if you run out of torpedos there are arms depos that can
build and restock but take gold, wich is gained by miners mining
goldmines.
also, if your out o amo, out of power and out of time, get close and
self destruct for explosive results!
hopefully the ai will get better in time, but for now just check this out.
