I'm running Kubuntu Edgy on a Dell Inspiron 6400 (core 2 duo) and have had
really great luck with it. The multimedia keys work nicely, as do most of
the "Fn" keys. Hibernate, suspend, and on demand cpu scaling all work great.
Most of the time it runs at 1 GHz, but will instantly ramp up to 1333 or 1667
MHz as needed. You can adjust how the CPU changes state by changing the
scaling_governor. The built-in Dell 1390 wireless card also works fine with
the Broadcom driver built into the kernel or using NDISwrapper. However,
using the Broadcom driver requires extracting the firmware for the card (use
bcm43xx-fwcutter) from a windows driver first. WPA-PSK works fine with this
card (with the broadcom driver or NDISwrapper). The ati card works great
using the fglrx drivers.
