That's what it's all about - love those long-distance recoveries.

Subject: [humband] Great New Hummer Data
27 May, a guy in Utopia New Brunswick Canada found a dead hummer in his
garage. He noticed the band and reported it. I banded that male
Ruby-throated January 24, 2016 at a home in Lakeland, FL. Distance between
banding and encounter is 1700 miles almost due north.
One of the objectives of Hummingbird Research has been to find out where
wintering Ruby-throated hummers in the Southeast breed. After banding over
1,000 Ruby-throated hummers in the past 20 winters, this one is the first to
be found on a possible breeding location.
You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince. This one is a
prince.
