(E-)Sword's components that you downloaded from the web are installed differently in linux. In the linux version, you use the menu to add components, rather than downloading them manually. After much heavy lifting, I got it to work fine under Debian Etch, but of course failed to write down the procedure I followed, because it was so simple I was sure that I would easily remember it...kinda like when I put something somewhere because then I'll be sure to remember.
