So, I'm looking into HIPL again, for better or worse... :) I stumbled over userspace IPsec support, which IIUC is only there to support pre-Linux-2.6.27 machines. Now while CentOS/RHEL 5.5 is still on 2.6.18, we don't support such old distros anymore. Thus I'm left wondering what userspace IPsec gives us apart from added complexity these days. Linux 2.6.27 was released on October 9th, 2008. Thoughts?
I recall that the hash chain extensions depend on it. Rene may have some thoughts on preserving that code?
(At the moment I am not sure if the beet module is included by default in Android kernel or not)
