The trees in our community have grown tall over the years, and it is
time to prune them. About every 2-3 years, the bottom of the trees get
pruned, but not much attention has been paid to the height or width of
the trees.
Tomorrow, a growth inhibitor will be applied to the trees. The goal is
to reduce the speed at which the trees grow, both vertically and
horizontally. It will also reduce the root growth, which could
eventually cause damage to the cement curbs and driveways. The
treatment is expected to inhibit growth for approximately three years.
While this treatment costs money, it is cheaper than pruning the trees
more frequently.
At a later date, but within the next 30 days, the trees will also be
pruned, so that they will not touch the buildings when the wind blows.
