So are we printing up a letter for each household and placing them on the
door. I don’t think everyone is going to get the message in the list serve.
Also are we going to put up some sort of road block at the gate so we don’t
have a repeat of the last time? The way it is now, we have no control over
delivery of ups or anything else.

The HOA is currently in the final stages of planning the sealcoat project.
This is where cracks in the road are filled, and a tar spray paint is
applied to the road's surface. The coating takes approximately 24 hours to
cure. This maintenance is typically performed every 9-10 years, and it
extends the life of the road.
This project is of a large magnitude and will directly affect each resident.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation during the project. We
apologize in advance for the inconvenience that you will experience.
The neighborhood road (pavement) will be closed to all vehicles and
pedestrians for a 24 hour period next week. You will not be able to drive
or walk on the pavement. You may walk on the cement strips that border the
pavement, and it is possible to reach each unit on foot without stepping on
the pavement.
The exact day is still to be determined, but we are aiming for Monday with
Tuesday and Wednesday as backup days, depending on weather. If there is
more than a 30-40% chance of rain, then the project will be postponed to the
next day. Most likely it will be an 8AM-8AM period. We will provide more
details before the end of the week.
Preparation steps for residents:
1. Avoid scheduling deliveries or pickups between Monday - Wednesday. In
the event that a delivery or pickup cannot be made, they will make another
attempt the next day.
2. Avoid scheduling contractors or moving trucks.
3. Vehicles that are parked in driveways cannot cover the cement strip on
the day of the project, or they will be towed. Typically these are larger
trucks that occupy the full length of the driveway. The logic here is that
these cement strips will serve as temporary sidewalks to allow people to
access their units on foot. We will place notices on these vehicles ahead
of time to increase awareness. We will also attempt to make contact with
affected units before calling for a tow.
4. Guest parking spaces must be vacated by 8AM on the day of the project, or
vehicles will be towed.
5. Remove your car from your driveway or garage by 8AM on the day of the
project if you plan to drive that day. If you don't plan to drive, then it
is fine to leave your vehicle in your garage or driveway.
Vehicles in driveways have little risk of the spray being blown but
residents are encouraged to put their vehicle(s) in the garage, off the
property, or cover the vehicle during the day of repair.
BluePrint Painting and Renovations, the Highland Unit Owners Association,
and Community Management Associates will not be held responsible should this
occur, so please take appropriate precautions.
6. If you plan to drive on the day of the project, you will need to park
your vehicle outside of the neighborhood for one night. Possible parking
options are Hilliard St, the grassy lot across the street from Hilliard,
Cain St (near Jackson St bridge), and the Atlanta Medical Center (AMC)
parking lot (across from Highland). The AMC option is the most secure, and
there is a $6 charge.
7. Make mental notes on how you can access your unit on foot without walking
on the pavement. Note that the 400 and 500 buildings can only be accessed
via the rear pedestrian gate.
Residents who walk or drive on uncured sealcoat will be fined a minimum of
$500, plus the cost to repair or replace the damaged areas! During the last
project, a UPS truck drove onto uncured sealcoat, and you can still see tire
marks near the 900 building.
